ofcourse they dont realize these things, those ME blinders make it quite difficult to see around any corners.

I'll cast my vote in favor of a few previous posts. The chance of getting a mod hasn't necessarily decreased from 100% but you now have a chance to obtain the mod and still have the weapon.
Imagine the possibilities...max. wisdom title -> salvage hilt and keep weapon -> salvage pommel and keep weapon -> salvage inscription and keep weapon -> salvage steel ingots...so you get a hilt, pommel, inscription, and some steel from a single weapon. Of course, the chance of this scenario should be slim to none even with a maxed wisdom title but it is better than only one of them. Finally no more having to lose a highly salvageable item with a mod for just the mod or common crafting mats.

That sounds about right from my perspective. The majority of weapons you'd be salvaging for the mod probably aren't worth keeping anyway and if it's to keep the weapon, but keep the mod, would you really want to chance destroying a perfect weapon to get the old mod even with extremely high chances of salvaging?

Salvaging a mod will be a 100% success for everyone.
Everyone will have a chance to not destroy the item when they salvage something from it, people with the 'Wisdom' title will have a higher chance to not destroy the item.

No, but there will more then likely be more of a demand. But that’s just speculation so don’t get your hopes up just yet.

I think they should opt for another means/title salvage bonus to be honest. Something along the lines of the amount of all items salvage the higher that number is the better percentage, rather then it just being based on the wisdom track. Of course the numbers to gain rank would be high, everyone would benefit and there is still something for hardcore to work for maxing out the title and of couse better percentage.

Well, whites are cheap right? I don't remeber, is there a such thing as an UND white? If not, I'm gonna go shopping for the next cheapest thing, UND blues. That is, if they make titles that affect your gameplay account based. Otherwise its just a lot of time and money, grinded away for nothing... Unless you only play on one character of course.

noone but u said anything about the ecomony. has nothing to do with the economy. but if you like to discuss that we could ask the mods to leave a ecomony thread open and you're more than welcome to explain it in there just how anet would fix things.

Try reading again OP. They say nothing about your chance to salvage the mod.
"We’ll also be updating some existing titles this way. For instance, after Nightfall releases, you’ll actually have a chance of successfully removing a magic component, like a Fiery Sword Hilt, without destroying the item it’s attached to. The Wisdom title (earned by identifying items) will improve your ability to do this."
Your wisdom title will only improve your chance of mainting the actual weapon when you salvage the mod.
Edit, and actually, given the example used, it seems we will be able to mod the prefix of Dragon Swords.. was this already a possibility?

i have read and reread it lots of times. however you and a few others havent read what i wrote.
NO WHERE DID I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT MODS. i said the 100% gaurantee. remember the PCGAMER article mentioned 100% salvage of MODS AND WEAPON. i did HOWEVER STAT that there was no longer gonna be 100% SALVAGE. but ty for pointing that detail out yet again.
and on the FDS, no way they will allow dual prefix mod on a weapon. so no you will not see a sundering fiery dragon sword of fort.

Of course,the richer part of the community without the title will want to snap up unid's and sellers will raise their price to match the demand. The rise won't be that high though..couple k tops. The slightly higher prices won't last long though as everyone will want in and the market would soon be flooded and the prices of unid would soon fall back down to 500-1k each.

Sheesh, stop crying. So the salvage options are different to what a magazine says, big deal. Doesn't surprise me that PC Gamer are wrong, the game isn't finished yet, so Anet have the right to change stuff. You guys need to get over it, just because you can't make money the normal way and are relying on 100% salvagable mods.

all i can say on that is ORLY. cause by what you are saying id say you didnt read it very well. i dont need to rely on any mods. i know how to make money fast. its not about me. its for the new players coming in. but since u somehow believe i cant make money do a post search for my post name.

I meant of course this might lead to it again or will, as the same situation as before with previous threads. You start to see a pattern that makes its way back to the original idea, that’s what they call in some terms a reenactment of past endeavors. I clearly rather stay out of this debate for it’s nothing but déjà vu, and yes I know I got myself involved by posting.
